A commission from the Croucher Institute to create a 20-minute educational film for Hong Kong Science Week. Filmed in documentary style as a three-person team, on the Svínafellsjökul in southern Iceland.

Commissioned by Celebrity Cruises, Explorers On The Edge was a series of five films promoting the idea of adventure and exploration to be shown as pre-roll in the theatre on board Edge, the flagship in the Celebrity fleet.
We worked with five contributors who each had different drives and motivations to explore, and filmed with them in their chosen landscape. This project took us to Iceland, the European Alps, North Wales and the Cantabrian Mountains in northern Spain, turning the final films around under a tight deadline.
Supporting a body of work created for the Anturus Explorers Academy onboard Celebrity cruise ships, we took members of the AEA delivery team to some exciting locations to inspire their love for the natural world.
Iceland only has 3000 reindeer left. By the mid-twentieth century, the reindeer population dwindled to only a few hundred animals, and survived only in the east and northeast of the country.
Researchers associate the drop in population to poor grazing conditions, most likely caused by volcanic eruptions, and a rash of harsh winters. But they can survive in winter, being able to regulate their body temperatures all the way down to -40C.
